Two Weeks in Italy: A Dahlia Adventure

Hello again my dear Dahlia family!

It's been a moment since I last posted (that's on me, but it was like February and early March - what is there to even say?)

I finally have a ton to talk about because I ran away to Italy for 2 weeks. I'll give deep dives into each city and activities (and shopping of course) throughout my next few posts. Be sure to be signed up for my newsletter to get that notification.

Here's a quick overview of where and what:

  1. Verona: A romantic, beautiful and historic city where we explored the cuisine and wine scene. I now feel like a wine buff, and can appreciate a proper cheese pairing.
  2. Madonna di Campiglio: Stunning valley ski village nestled in the dolomites and alps region. I spent only half a day on the slopes because I got super tired, and day two was hit with a storm that shut down most of the gondolas due to high winds. I did, however, get my hands on some incredible cashmere silk cardigan that I refuse to take off. Beware - the air is THIN up there, I was struggling.
  3. Trento: Such an amazing city with history all around you. Trento feels like a more modern and business forward space for locals to build a career. Of course the city feels centuries old (because it is), and the views are unreal (surrounded by a mountain range).
  4. Venice: (this is where I started to get a sort of mini-flu, I powered through) My LORD Venice. She is ancient. She is beautiful. She is mysterious. She is art. As an artist myself, this was the capstone to my curiosity of what the old masters did to be that damn good. You are surrounded by water, a labyrinth of churches, and masterful artwork at every turn. The city is vibrant, alive, while also being soothing and calm. It's a busy city of working artists, families, shop owners and students, while also being a place for slow contemplation, late night dinners and apertive.

Clearly I have a lot to say, so stay tuned for my future posts!
