Lifestyle June
Hello my Dahlias!
This month's post is going to be more for the Lifestyle lovers. I'll share what I've been wearing, eating, experiencing - all around testing for those interested in the Dahlia Lifestyle side of things. Best part of this list? Not sponsored and no AI.
It's just me, my thoughts and recommendations!
Lets get started.
1. What I've been wearing: Minerale
I am a Quince enthusiast. For those new to Quince, it's a direct to consumer model for shopping, skipping the big brand price tags so you can get high quality products for a lot cheaper. So when I saw they had fragrance, I had to indulge! I picked up their Discovery Set for testing, and found myself reaching for one little vial "Minerale". The moment I saw the full sized product was back it stock I snatched it up and I'm so glad I did. Aside from the scent being a lovely oceanside spice that I'll be wearing all summer, the bottle is sleek, and the atomizer is so smooth giving a perfect application. Best part? A bottle goes for only $50!

2. What I've been cooking
I am always hunting for recipes that are 1. Simple and 2. Protein focused. I am an active person, so I need to make sure I'm getting my nutrients and energy without having to jump through hoops.
- Hunan Shrimp Dish: Shrimp are relatively affordable, and pack a protein punch. I used broccoli for my dish to use what I had on hand, it was a super simple one pan dish made quick and easy. I recommend making the shrimp fresh each time however, as reheated shrimp tends to get chewy.
- Tuscan Chicken: Chicken is a simple staple that is easy to reheat. This dish packs the veggies in without missing on flavor. For my version I used heavy cream instead of coconut milk, and added brussels sprouts on the side for additional fiber. I did find cooking the chicken longer was necessary, I recommend using a heat thermometer to be sure the protein cooks thoroughly.
3. What I've been reading
I have declared this summer the "Southern Gothic" era of my reading. While fighting off a nasty head cold I was able to take down "The Ballad of a Sad Cafe" and a chunk of "The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter" by Carson McCullers. Without giving away too much, these stories take place in the deep south, the the 1930's - 1950's. The author pulls direct experiences from her childhood, creating an intimate look into the lives of the characters she introduces.
I highly recommend this author!
